EYEBROW PRE-CARE
PRE-APPOINTMENT

*IMPORTANT*

Please do not wax/tweeze/tint, etc day of appointment.

Do not come with fresh lash extensions, with my hand placement, I will most likely knock off most of your lashes on the right eye since the glue needs 24 hours to cure.

If you plan on getting any kind of alteration done to your brow area, best results are if they are done prior to permanent makeup. IE, brow lift, botox, fillers, etc.

  • Stop using any skin thinners (Vitamin A, glycolic acids, exfoliation) on the brow area 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

  • Stop use of any unnecessary supplements a week prior to appointment. Lots of supplements thin your blood.

  • Any waxing or brow shaping should be done at least 2 days before.

  • If you tint your brows, tint it at least one week prior to the procedure.

  • Cosmetic botox should be done 2 weeks prior or 2 weeks after.

  • Fillers done a month before, or two weeks after.

  • DO NOT consume alcohol, caffeine or take any blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, Niacin 48 hours before your procedure, this will cause excess bleeding and may affect your results).

  • You may come in with how you normally draw in your brows so I can see what you are used to. This is especially important for clients who desire a specific brow shape. If you are open to suggestions, I am happy to help design a custom brow to personally suit you.

  • You may experience hypersensitivity and more pain around or during your menstrual cycle.

  • We will not be able to tattoo over any blemishes, sores, and moles in or around the brow area.

EYEBROW AFTER CARE

After care is crucial, it is very important to follow these instructions for the full 10 day healing period to ensure proper healing and color retention. Results will vary for all individuals and we can not guarantee your results. It usually takes around 7-10 days for the skin to heal. However, you should follow the After-Care until your skin is completely healed. Your skin is healed when all flaking and/or scabbing is gone.

  • Day of treatment: BLOT or WIPE (depending on your skin type

If you have OILY SKIN, or COMBO with OILY TZONE: With medium pressure, blot the area with clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid. Do this every 5 minutes for 4 hours or until you go to bed. You CANNOT OVER blot, but you can definitely under blot. Removing this fluid prevents hardening of the lymph, thus helping to prevent scabbing. Blotting is key!

  • If you have NORMAL - DRY SKIN: Wipe lightly with damp cotton round or tissue, blot dry with dry cotton round or tissue. Do this every 30 minutes for 4 hours. Wash lightly and blot dry before bed.

  • Days 2-10 (until the scabbing is fully gone): WASH AND MOISTURIZE

Gently rinse your PMU each morning and night with water and a gentle soap (ex. Dial, baby shampoo, Cetaphil). With a very light touch, use your clean fingertips to gently cleanse the PMU. Rub the area in a smooth motion for 5-10 seconds and rinse with water ensuring that all soap is rinsed away. To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue or let air dry. DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or any exfoliants.

We believe healing with little to no aftercare ointment is best! You should only apply Aquaphor if you are extremely itchy and uncomfortable. If so, you can apply a rice grain amount of Aquaphor with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area as needed. Be sure not to over-apply as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin. Never put the ointment on a wet or damp tattoo.

Do not rub or pick at your PMU. This can cause scarring, blurring, and/or infection. Should there be any scabbing, let them fall off naturally.

Aside from your daily gentle washes as noted above, do not soak your PMU in water until healed (ex. bath tub, sauna, pool, or hot tub). When washing your face, wash around the brow area. Showers are fine but limit them to five minutes to prevent too much steam around the brow area.

Avoid facials, chemical treatments, and Botox until your PMU are healed.

Do not allow makeup, lotions, or other products to touch the treated area.

Stay out of direct sunlight and tanning booths. You can go outside of course! Avoid laying out at the pool or a beach until your PMU are healed. If you are going to the beach or pool wear a hat that shields your PMU from the sun until you're healed, like a visor or baseball cap.

Consult a physician if you have ANY signs of infection, which could include redness in the brow area (aside from the first few hours after your appointment), foul smell, green or yellow discharge, and/or fever.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please call or text us at 513-456-1011. Email or texting is preferred for less emergent situations. Unless emergent, please expect a response DURING business hours.

  • Once scabbing is gone, you may return to your normal skin routine, apply sunscreen, makeup etc. Please be aware it takes 4 weeks for skin to be fully healed.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • DO NOT expect your brow tattoos to heal perfectly after the first session. This can be a 2 step process. It takes time. BE PATIENT during your 10 day healing process your brows will change and appear different from day to day.

  • Immediately after your procedure brows will appear darker and more defined and this will last up to 2 weeks . Your brow tattoo can appear more solid, may seem to disappear and it may look wet and painted on.

  • Around days 4-5 you will experience flaking and your brows may look dry. DO NOT PICK your brows, let any dryness fall off naturally. If flakes gets picked off prematurely missing hair stokes will result and cause patchy brows which can lead to scarring.

  • Your brow tattoo will take up to 4 weeks to fully heal. When the flaking comes off the color may seem faint this is because a fresh layer of skin has healed over the brow tattoo. Give your brows a few weeks and the color will become clearer. Color will continue to change on a daily basis until all healing is complete at the 4 week mark.

  • You may experience itchiness in the brows after the 10 days for up to 2 months due to the healing process of the dermal layer.

  • Not everyones brows can heal clean and crisp. Also for those who bleed more may tend to need more touchups as the blood pushes the pigment out while we tattoo.

THINGS NOT TO DO

  • DO NOT expose your brows to the sun during the healing process. UV Rays can alter the pigment of your tattoo. Following the first 10 days SPF is important for the longevity your micropigmentation.

  • DO NOT sweat excessively for 10 days. Sweat contains salt and can infect and prematurely fade your brow tattoo. Salt in the sweat may also alter the colour of your tattoo. Moderate exercise is fine.

  • DO NOT run direct water on your brow tattoo. This is especially important in the first few days, you do not want to wash out any pigment.

  • DO NOT use Vaseline on your tattoo.

  • DO NOT use any makeup, creams, exfoliants on the brows for 10 days.

  • DO NOT go into sauna’s, pools, and steam rooms.

  • DO NOT get massages or facials or skin treatments during the healing process.

  • DO NOT go tanning and if you do cover your brow tattoo, UV rays can alter the color of your tattoo.

  • DO not use exfoliants, retinol acids, or AHA’s on the brow area. It will fade your tattoo prematurely.

  • DO NOT use laser light therapy on your brow tattoo. This can darken, lighten, and distort the pigment.

TOUCH UPS

  • Touch ups are typically done within the first 3 months after the initial appointment.

  • This can be a 2 (and sometimes even 3) step process. A 3rd appointment will cost a TRAY FEE*

  • The first session is used to build shape and gain symmetry.

  • The second session is used to perfect the brows and add more color/definition.

  • This is a process and some clients may need multiple sessions to achieve their desired result.

  • Do not expect perfect results after the first session.

  • Oily skin women, permanent makeup may not look as bold or sharp compared to lighter, dryer skin type clients.

  • Some client’s skin may have a harder time retaining pigment and may require additional sessions.

*TRAY FEE is $50 an hour to cover supplies and studio time. For most minor touch ups, only an hour is needed.

LONG TERM CARE

  • THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OF RESULTS as everyone’s result will vary due to skin type, lifestyle and the initial 10 day care and longterm care of your brow tattoo.

  • Use at least SPF 50 to protect your skin, sun exposure will cause fading and can alter the color of your tattoo.

  • As the tattoo fades they will get fainter and less defined.

  • Maintenance is required to maintain desired results. Touchups are done on average every 12-24 months to maintain your tattoo.

  • Brows and Lips typically last 1-3 years. Freckles 1 year. Eyeliner 2-5 years.
